About The Position

The Associate, Computer / Electrical Engineer (FPGA Development) role supports development of complex electro-optical, opto-mechanical, and electro-mechanical products. The engineer prepares component drawings and specifications; supports engineering and purchasing with parts and materials procurement and selection; prepares nonstandard part and material submittals; and works with internal and external laboratories to interpret test results and define testing to verify compliance with requirements. The role communicates technical issues and work status to program engineers, management, and customers, presents analysis results, and provides technical consultation and reviews of material and component quality documentation. Work is performed following established procedures and detailed guidance from more senior staff. The position may involve work across digital engineering, RF engineering, photonics engineering, antenna engineering, hardware design verification, and optical engineering. Digital engineering work includes FPGA and programmable hardware design, analysis, modification, testing, and evaluation; complex circuit card assembly design; system feasibility analysis; modeling, simulation, experimental testing, component selection, design reviews, and scripts to control synthesis and build tools. Other areas include RF/microwave device testing and circuit analysis; optical communications and RF photonic systems; antenna design and evaluation; hardware verification testing; and optical design, analysis, tolerancing, modeling, metrology, and integration support. Applicants must be pursuing a qualifying bachelor's degree or have completed one within the previous 12 months. The role follows a 9/80 schedule, totaling 80 working hours every 14 days, with every other Friday off. The posted salary range for specified locations is $62,000 to $115,000. Benefits include a relocation stipend, 401(k), EAP, and company-paid holidays.
