The Associate Clinical Research Coordinator coordinates non-therapeutic clinical research protocols, such as minimal-risk, survey, and chart-review studies, under the direction of a principal investigator and/or supervisor. The role follows applicable regulatory laws and institutional guidelines and may assist with complex interventional, therapeutic, or greater-than-minimal-risk studies, but does not have overall responsibility for those studies. The coordinator screens, enrolls, and recruits research participants; schedules and monitors research activities and participant involvement; recognizes and appropriately reports adverse events, protocol deviations, and other unanticipated problems; collects, abstracts, and enters research data; and performs assigned administrative and regulatory duties. The role works with institutional departments, investigators, research personnel, participants, other research centers, and sponsoring companies to resolve issues and support efficient completion of studies. Some travel may be required. When assigned protocol development and maintenance activities, responsibilities may include managing protocol documents and processes through editing, amendments, proofing, and verification against institutional and federal standards; coordinating study logistics; submitting materials to the Institutional Review Board; and communicating with study sites and/or federal agencies about study status changes. Other protocol development activities and assignments may also be required. The position is based at Mayo Clinic's Florida site. Visa sponsorship and relocation are not available.
