About The Position

As a member of the Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (“OCIO”) team, the Associate Client Investment Officer is responsible for assisting senior staff in the management of client investment programs. Provide client servicing support as necessary. Review client portfolios daily and identify issues based upon understanding of client investment programs. Participate in client meetings when appropriate. The position is geared toward early career investment professionals with interest in acquiring the knowledge and skills to develop into Client Investment Officers.

Requirements

  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills are required.
  • In-depth knowledge of client servicing, investment, and/or portfolio management is required.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills are required.
  • Technical skills / systems knowledge (e.g. Microsoft Office) is required.
  • College degree required

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Provides investment management support by maintaining awareness of portfolio asset allocation and construction and prepares review material for client meetings
  • Reviews client portfolios daily and identifies issues based upon understanding of client investment programs
  • Executes transactions to rebalance client investment programs and works with bank partners to post client buy/sell transactions
  • Partners with portfolio management team and manager research on all additions, replacements and removal of managers/investments from client programs
  • Coordinates with performance team to analyze and prepare client portfolio information
  • Verifies data accuracy and completes all client deliverables in a timely manner while accommodating any unique client requirements or requests
  • Ensures client and process procedures are maintained and updated on a regular basis
  • Operates independently with in-depth knowledge of business unit / function
  • Carries out complex activities with significant financial, client, and business impact
  • Participates in client meetings, when appropriate
  • Maintains awareness of Northern Trust’s economic and market expectations
