As an Associate Engineer in Mi-Tech Services’ trenchless division, you will help design and support underground infrastructure projects involving horizontal directional drilling (HDD), tunneling, auger boring, direct steerable pipe thrusting, and microtunneling. Projects include pipeline and utility crossings beneath rivers, highways, railroads, and other sensitive areas, supporting municipal water and wastewater, renewable energy such as offshore wind farms, and oil and natural gas infrastructure. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will perform calculations and engineering analyses, evaluate subsurface conditions, develop trenchless designs, assess potential construction impacts, and provide technical support during construction. You will also prepare construction drawings using AutoCAD. The role combines engineering analysis, design, report writing, and field experience, and offers opportunities to build knowledge of soil mechanics, geotechnical engineering, geology, and engineering mechanics, including how ground conditions and construction methods influence design decisions. Mi-Tech offers mentorship from experienced engineers and industry experts, progressively challenging assignments, company-supported training, field experience, and experience toward PE licensure while working under licensed engineers. The organization is family-owned and backed by the engineering and construction resources of the Michels Family of Companies.
