About The Position

Eurofins Scientific is an international life sciences company providing analytical testing services. This role focuses on environment testing, specifically maintaining and operating GC/MS instrumentation. The Associate Chemist will be responsible for tuning and calibrating instruments daily, analyzing quality control and client samples, and reviewing/assembling data to meet client requirements. The position emphasizes applying Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), maintaining instrumentation, analyzing samples, and ensuring data quality. The role also involves staying updated on technical innovations in the environmental field and conducting all activities safely and efficiently.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field
Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or Sponsorship
Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.

Previous relevant lab experience

Responsibilities

Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate
Maintains GC/MS instrumentation
Tunes and calibrates GC/MS
Analyzes samples by GC/MS
Reviews and assembles all supporting GC/MS data
Reads, understands, and carries out SOPs
Understands and uses appropriate computer programs and databases and other software in a Windows-based environment
Demonstrates and maintains awareness of technical innovations and progress in environmental field (including periodic literature examination for relative scientific information)
Makes calibration standards or other quality control samples
Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner
Performs other duties as assigned
