About The Position

The Associate Campus Pastor in Residency is a rising leader who supports campus ministry operations, shepherds people, and gains practical pastoral experience through intentional coaching and leadership development. This role is designed to prepare individuals for future pastoral leadership within the church.

Requirements

  • This role is full time 40 hours per week.
  • This role is eligible to receive a housing allowance.
  • This role adheres to a standard schedule, knowing it may fluctuate at times & based on certain needs. Standard schedule is: Sunday: 8:00am - 1:00pm, Monday: 9:00am - 5:00pm, Tuesday: 9:00am - 5:00pm, Wednesday: 9:00am - 5:00pm, Thursday: 9:00am - 5:00pm, 6:00pm - 9:00pm.

Responsibilities

  • Shepherding Givers: Help Campus Pastor execute giving initiatives and shepherding of givers.
  • Adult Discipleship Responsibilities: Lead a group to disciple men & teach regularly at onsite groups
  • Funerals and Weddings (including premarital counseling) and Pastoral Counseling
  • Participating in LST meetings
  • Lead Financial Assistance
  • Teach Membership Class
  • Service Hosting and potential Preaching on local Sundays/Thursdays
  • Community Outreach: Lead outreach and ForSC initiatives
  • Help Campus Pastor build and help sustain relationships with community partners
  • Staff Leadership Opportunities: Lead meetings with staff regularly.
  • Sit in 1 on 1’s with Campus Pastor and Directors on a monthly basis.
  • Campus Pastor Team: Participate in CP Training days and CP meetings and metrics meetings throughout the year.
  • Quarterly 1 on 1 with the Lead Campus Pastor/supervisor of their campus pastor.
  • Develop and execute an action plan to gain Campus Pastor level understanding of each ministry.
  • Working with each ministry on recruiting, team building, and special projects.
  • Serving in each ministry monthly.
  • Attend each Ministry Lead Team meeting once per quarter.
  • Participate in evals, attend support meetings,
  • Meet with Ministry Support Directors quarterly to build relationships, perspective, and trust.
  • Meet with CP weekly for 1:1 to discuss progress, perspective, and to provide 360 degree feedback on responsibilities, staff health, campus operations.
  • Complete Supervisor Development Training Program.
  • Campus Launch Preparation: Complete Campus Pastor ResidencyTraining Program
  • Work with Lead Team and Sending CP, and Lead CP Team to identify specific new Campus location
  • Build relationships with churches and non profits in launching community.
  • Identify and secure portable location
  • Host social gatherings, worship nights, vision nights, and preview gatherings for new campus.
  • Recruit Launch Team and Build Core Team for new campus launch.
  • Launch and oversee study groups and onsite groups for the new campus.
  • Launch/lead new gathering at sending campus to prepare for campus launch.
  • Work with Lead Team, HR, Sending CP to build a new campus staff team.
  • Launch and lead a new campus.
  • Develop Campus Pastor level understanding of NewSpring’s policies.
  • Adhere to and encompass the qualities and characteristics required of NewSpring Church staff members, as defined by the Policies and Procedures Handbook.
