About The Position

This full-time position is responsible for the leadership, vision, and execution of the Kids Ministry at the Chesterfield campus. This person in this position will develop, encourage and support all volunteers and paid staff (if applicable) to ensure the campus is performing at a high capacity. This person will build relationships with kids and families and will resource and equip parents as they follow God’s command to help their child know, follow and trust Jesus. This person is responsible for utilizing volunteers and paid staff (if applicable) to execute the strategies and systems of KidsCrossing to ensure activities/classes for kids and families are safe, engaging, and provide opportunity for spiritual growth. The Kids’ Ministry Pastor must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead both adults and children in ministry. The ideal candidate for this position will have a passion for Jesus Christ, the vision of The Crossing and helping children and families take steps on their spiritual journey.

Requirements

  • BS or BA or minimum of 5 years’ experience leading kids’ ministry
  • 3-5 years’ experience in children’s ministry or education (multi-site preferred)
  • Experience leading volunteer teams
  • Experience leading paid staff (preferred, but not required)
  • Knowledge of child development and current kids’ culture
  • Attend a service at one of The Crossing campuses on a weekly basis
  • Passionate about their relationship with God
  • Baptized after making the thoughtful decision to follow Christ
  • Regard the Bible as God’s final authority in all areas of Christian life and desire to be wholly obedient to it
  • Wholeheartedly affirm The Crossing’s Statement of Faith, including our view on Baptism
  • Live a lifestyle consistent with scriptural principles

Responsibilities

  • Be a translator of and cast vision clearly and frequently to ensure all volunteers are continuously folded into the culture of The Crossing
  • Be a skillful team builder and invest in volunteers to ensure KidsCrossing can operate at max capacity
  • Equip volunteers to feel comfortable serving in their role
  • Empower volunteers to serve in their sweet spot and utilize their gifts
  • Connect volunteers so they know they belong
  • Celebrate volunteers so they feel valued and appreciated
  • Develop a dynamic leadership team of volunteers (Coaches) that can be handed ministry responsibilities and help you lead others
  • Utilize strategic and intentional opportunities for the purpose of encouraging, equipping and discipling parents (1:1 Conversations, Classes, Digital Communication, Milestones)
  • Implement systems, policies and procedures agreed upon by KidsCrossing team to ensure unity and consistency across sites, safe and secure environments, and efficient use of staff and team members
  • Lead, develop, encourage and support kids’ staff at your campus (if applicable)
  • Collaborate with Director of Kids’ Ministry to develop and oversee the budget so it effectively and wisely utilizes church resources and maximizes ministry opportunity
  • Demonstrates a knowledge and confidence in Scripture
  • Able to effectively navigate the art of leading a Serve Profile or pastoral conversation
  • Champion unity throughout all Crossing Ministries and campuses
  • Be accessible (including non-office hours) to volunteers, families, and other attenders for pastoral care
  • Participate in pastoral meetings and any other duties assigned to pastors at The Crossing
