About The Position

At CBC/Radio-Canada, the successful candidate will primarily produce local and remote newscasts. This role involves organizing and contributing to the preparation, production, and post-production of televised newscasts, including researching and digitizing visuals for short items. The work allows for independent judgment and initiative while requiring high accuracy and attention to detail. It regularly involves coordinating the activities of others. The position is permanent and requires full-time on-site presence.

Requirements

Community college diploma in radio or television arts or the equivalent
Two (2) or more years’ relevant experience during which you have become familiar with the fields of television production, IT, and broadcasting technologies
Superior French-language skills (spoken and written) is mandatory
Good knowledge of newsroom operations, including editorial judgment
Proven knowledge of iNEWS and MediaCentral editing software
Solid communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to research and gather information from a variety of sources
Good technical and production skills
Excellent prioritizing and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated attention to accuracy under time constraint
Solid organizational skills
Openness to new work methods

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of spoken and written English (an asset)

Responsibilities

Primarily produce local and remote newscasts
Organize and contribute to the preparation, production and post-production of a televised newscast
Research and numerize the visuals (archives or others) for short items
Prepare the required materials
Assist in the presentation of scripts
Gather information required to produce the show
Ensure that the necessary revisions are made to lineups
Inform all affected personnel of any changes
Compile and proofread all information for credit lists and keys
Request facilities, and the necessary technical, design and post-production resources
Ensure coordination of these bookings during the development and modification of the production schedule
