About The Position

The Associate Benefits Operations Analyst is responsible for the successful implementation of small group employee benefit plans (generally under 250 covered lives) across Life, AD&D, Disability, Absence Management, and Supplemental Health products. This position manages the implementation process from point of sale through contract issuance, billing readiness, and customer onboarding while serving as the primary operational contact for customers, brokers, and internal business partners. This role will initially support a 10-month Dearborn-to-Symetra migration project, partnering across multiple operational areas to ensure a successful customer transition. Upon completion of migration, the position is expected to transition into a permanent implementation role supporting ongoing new business onboarding. Additional hours may be required during critical migration milestones.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Finance or three to five years of equivalent experience in a dynamic environment in workforce benefits and/or medical insurance

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end implementation of small group employee benefit plans.
  • Support all phases of the Dearborn-to-Symetra migration project.
  • Coordinate implementation activities with Underwriting, Contracts, Billing, Claims, Compliance, IT, and Customer Service.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, brokers, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor implementation timelines and ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Research, resolve, and escalate implementation issues as appropriate.
  • Review contracts and plan documents for accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate eligibility file setup and testing with customers and IT partners.
  • Prepare onboarding materials, implementation documentation, and customer communications.
  • Maintain implementation records, provide project status updates, and participate in process improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate customer implementation materials, onboarding documentation, regular project status, updates to leadership and educational resources.
