About The Position

Richardson, Plowden & Robinson, P.A. is actively seeking an Associate Attorney to join our Bankruptcy, Foreclosure, Creditor's Rights and Business / Corporate Law practice group in our Columbia, SC office. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for handling miscellaneous creditor's rights and corporate matters, with a specific focus on creditor's rights issues and commercial transactions.

Requirements

  • Good standing with the South Carolina Bar
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Exceptional research and writing skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Juris Doctorate degree
  • 1 – 3 years' experience preferred
  • Strong time management, communication, and organizational skills
  • Commitment to client service and effective problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage caseload efficiently

Responsibilities

  • Conducting closings
  • Participating in trials and hearings
  • Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery documents, and briefs
  • Performing legal research
  • Communicating with clients and opposing parties to resolve or settle claims
  • Managing a diverse caseload from inception to conclusion
  • Providing timely updates to senior attorneys
  • Collaborating with other attorneys during depositions and various court appearances
  • Review and draft contracts and leases
