About The Position

Lydecker is seeking an Associate Attorney for its General Liability practice group in its Miami office. This hybrid role handles a variety of defense litigation matters, including premises liability, personal injury, and general liability cases, under the supervision of a partner. First-year attorneys are also welcome to apply. The associate will manage multiple cases and perform litigation work including drafting and reviewing pleadings, motions, and discovery; attending and defending depositions and taking depositions; appearing in court; and assisting with mediation and trial preparation. The position requires a willingness and ability to bill. Lydecker describes itself as a national, full-service law firm with more than 150 attorneys. Requirements

Florida Bar license in good standing.
Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-approved law school.
Two to three or more years of civil defense litigation experience; first-year attorneys are also welcome to apply.
Prior experience handling up to 15 or more cases at once, attending and defending depositions, taking depositions, appearing in court, and drafting motions and discovery.
Basic knowledge of computer operation, internet software, spreadsheet software, and word-processing software; ability to type and operate office equipment.
Ability to work independently, self-motivation, and strong client communication skills.
Clear oral communication skills, including listening, seeking clarification, responding to questions, and participating in meetings as needed.
Clear and informative writing, proofreading and editing skills, ability to adapt writing style to needs, effective presentation of numerical data, and ability to interpret written information.
Ability to maintain client and firm confidentiality and follow applicable lawyer ethics rules.
Willingness and ability to bill.

Nice To Haves

Experience in general liability, bodily injury, premises liability, products liability, or construction defect litigation.
Mediation and trial experience.
Familiarity with Microsoft products.

Responsibilities
