Requirements

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
Admission to the New York State Bar
At least 5 years of experience handling the defense of Automobile and Premises Liability cases in the State of New York
Ability to draft and argue dispositive motions
Perform legal research and respond to discovery requests
Prepare comprehensive written status reports for insurers
Previous experience taking and defending fact witness and expert depositions independently
Prior ADR experience handling arbitrations and mediations

Responsibilities

Manage cases from inception through resolution
Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials
Ensure meticulous compliance with all court deadlines and scheduling requirements
Work closely with clients, experts, and fellow attorneys to develop and execute effective litigation strategies
Provide clear and consistent client communication, including regular updates and comprehensive written status reports
Conduct in-depth legal research
Prepare strategic memoranda
Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys to ensure seamless case management
Take and defend depositions
Prepare and file dispositive motions
Handle arbitrations and mediations
Prepare comprehensive status reports for insurers
