About The Position

Represent institutional mortgage lenders and servicers in bankruptcy matters with a focus on protecting and enforcing secured-creditor rights in Chapters 7, 13, and 11. Provide end-to-end legal strategy across the lifecycle of a bankruptcy case, including proof of claim, motions for relief from stay, plan review and objection, loan modification and loss-mitigation oversight, and post-petition compliance. Advise clients on complex bankruptcy, servicing, and investor-guideline issues to ensure regulatory compliance, minimize financial risk, and maximize recoveries while maintaining borrower-facing and court-facing credibility.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience working as an Attorney in the Bankruptcy arena.
  • At least 1 year representing creditors in Nevada Bankruptcy Courts.
  • In good standing and an active member of the Bar.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and rules.
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and generally at ease with utilizing technology.
  • Must possess superior organizational skills.
  • Possess an analytical thought process and uses critical thinking skills.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Protecting and enforcing secured-creditor rights in Chapters 7, 13, and 11.
  • Providing end-to-end legal strategy across the lifecycle of a bankruptcy case, including proof of claim, motions for relief from stay, plan review and objection, loan modification and loss-mitigation oversight, and post-petition compliance.
  • Advising clients on complex bankruptcy, servicing, and investor-guideline issues to ensure regulatory compliance, minimize financial risk, and maximize recoveries while maintaining borrower-facing and court-facing credibility.
  • Attending hearings and mediations throughout the State of Nevada.
  • Managing multiple responsibilities and reprioritizing to effectively manage a high case volume in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Analyzing case law and providing recommendations.
  • Working a case file from start to finish.
  • Identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner.
  • Gathering and analyzing information skillfully.
  • Examining ways to improve and promote quality.
