About The Position

Texas A&M-Victoria seeks two full-time, tenure-track instructors of Clinical or Counseling Psychology at the Assistant Professor and/or Associate Professor levels, with a start date of August 2027. The Department of Social Science at Texas A&M-Victoria invites applications for tenure-track positions in Clinical or Counseling Psychology. A doctoral degree in Psychology from an APA or CPA accredited clinical or counseling program is required. Candidates with a confirmed doctoral completion date will be considered. The applicant must be license-eligible in Texas. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education and will contribute to a vibrant department that supports multiple majors, including Psychology, History, Political Science, and Criminal Justice. Applicants whose research is in any area of Clinical or Counseling Psychology are encouraged to apply. The Department of Social Science welcomes especially any applicant who examines the interplay of biological processes with psychological, social, and/or behavioral factors. Evidence of an active research agenda and the ability to publish in the field of expertise are expected.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Psychology from an APA or CPA accredited clinical or counseling program.

Responsibilities

  • Teach twelve credit hours per semester of both undergraduate and graduate Psychology courses, in-person and online, depending on the expertise of the applicant and departmental needs.
  • Direct student learning opportunities that might include undergraduate and graduate research, or other applied student experiences.
  • Contribute to the distinctive general education curriculum and the broader academic life on campus.
  • Conduct research and scholarly activity.
  • Provide career advising.
  • Foster connections with community organizations.
  • Maintain a strong campus presence.
  • Support student recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Supervise students in their practical experiences.
  • Advise and mentor students to help them achieve their potential.
  • Serve on university committees as needed.
