About The Position

This role is for an Associate, Application Engineer at BlackRock Financial Management, Inc. The position is located at 400 Howard St San Francisco, CA 94105. The core responsibilities include delivering high efficiency, high availability, concurrent, and fault-tolerant software and technology systems. The engineer will significantly contribute to the development of Aladdin’s global, multi-asset trading platform, designing and developing innovative solutions to complex problems, and identifying issues and roadblocks. The role requires applying validated quality software engineering practices throughout all development phases. Additionally, the position involves leadership, vision, and partnership in brainstorming solutions for team productivity and efficiency, guiding and motivating others. A key aspect of the role is to drive a strong culture of inclusion and diversity within the team through recruiting, management actions, and employee engagement. Collaboration with team members in a multi-office, multi-country environment is also essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field and three (3) years of experience as an Analyst, Software Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer or a related role. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field or one (1) year of experience as an Analyst, Machine Learning Engineer or a related role.
  • One (1) year of experience in: Python; Java; and Agile development.
  • Any amount of experience with: Building high quality software with design-focused and test-driven approaches (Test-Driven Development); Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code language; HashiCorp Vault; Kubernetes and Cloud Native concepts; Linux environment; C++; and Golang.
