About The Position

T-Mobile is hiring an Associate AI Engineer intern for an 11-week paid learning experience. The team uses artificial intelligence and emerging technologies to improve customer experience and operational efficiency, developing and integrating AI-driven solutions for customer interactions and service processes. It serves as the Decision Engine for Next Best Actions (NBA), creating personalized recommendations based on customer needs, context, and business objectives. The work involves Generative AI, prompt engineering, machine learning, and real-time decisioning capabilities, in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related technical field.
• Foundational knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, Generative AI, and large language models.
• Familiarity with Python and/or Java programming, data analysis, cloud computing, and software development concepts.
• Exposure to prompt engineering, AI model optimization, data modeling, or AI-driven decisioning through coursework, academic projects, or personal projects.
• Interest in intelligent decisioning solutions, personalization, and Next Best Action recommendations to improve customer experiences.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, and willingness to learn emerging technologies.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future.
• Must have one or more courses remaining in a bachelor's or graduate degree program after the internship.
• Current T-Mobile or Metro by T-Mobile employees are ineligible for external Summer Internships.

Nice To Haves

• Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Relevant AI/ML certifications.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of proof-of-concept AI-driven decisioning solutions.
• Conduct testing and document findings.
• Present recommendations to improve the reliability, scalability, and effectiveness of AI-driven decisioning.
