Associate Aerostructures Engineer

University of Dayton•Layton, UT

About The Position

UDRI is seeking an entry-level mechanical or aerospace engineer to support aerostructures research projects. The role principally involves creating detailed computer-aided design (CAD) models and drawings of aircraft landing gear components. Additional possible duties include developing analytical models and algorithms, generating bills of materials, assessing aircraft system technical orders, supporting testing of aircraft components, and preparing technical documentation such as presentations, reports, drawings, and other engineering data. The position is within UDRI’s Structures Group, which works with airframe structures, landing systems, transparency systems, radome structures, engine components, and high-temperature supersonic and hypersonic applications. The group conducts structures-related research and development and contributes to the Structures and Materials Division’s capabilities in systems engineering, design and redesign, analysis, prototyping and fabrication, testing, and qualification to transition hardware solutions for air and ground vehicles and complex test equipment.
