The Associate Actuary II will analyze statistical data such as mortality, accident, sickness, disability, and retirement rates. They will construct probability tables to forecast risk and liability for payment of future benefits. This role applies fundamental actuarial principles in analyzing company and industry data to prepare actuarial analyses in accordance with the “CAS code of Professional Conduct” and the Actuarial Standards of Practice. The position supports core actuarial functions including pricing, reserving, and modeling, which are responsible for ensuring profitability, growth, and the financial strength of the organization. The Associate Actuary II will prepare and present summaries of actuarial analyses for distribution to Home Office and Field management, other American National departments, consultants, reinsurers, and regulators. This role will also complete processes and improve methods for performing and documenting actuarial analyses promptly and accurately. Additionally, the Associate Actuary II will train less experienced analysts with spreadsheets, databases, and sources of data used in actuarial analyses.
