About The Position

The Associate Actuary performs complex actuarial work with minimal supervision and delivers high quality results. Communicates findings and recommendations clearly to actuarial peers, leaders, and senior stakeholders across the organization. Applies advanced critical thinking to identify complex issues, assess risk, and drive effective solutions. Takes full ownership of complex projects from planning through completion, anticipating dependencies, risks, and key decisions. Provides guidance to project teams and supports the growth of junior analysts through coaching and knowledge sharing. Demonstrates emerging leadership by modeling accountability and collaboration, and actively partners across teams to achieve shared outcomes. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Social Science, Finance, or a related field
  • Coursework/Training: Successful completion of 4+ exams of the Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation
  • Upon hire: Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA)
  • 5 years healthcare actuarial/analytics experience
  • Experience with writing queries in SQL or another programming language
  • Demonstrated experience applying project management skills in data-related and financial analysis projects
  • Experience working for a large health care provider or plan

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Social Science, Finance, or a related field
  • Upon hire: Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA)
  • Experience with Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid revenue methodologies
  • Experience with APMs and Value-Based Care contracts
