About The Position

Join a growing actuarial modeling team responsible for validating and testing critical model enhancements that support valuation, cash flow testing, corporate planning, and assumption-setting functions. This role is ideal for an actuary who enjoys analytical problem-solving, model validation, and collaborating across multiple actuarial disciplines to ensure model accuracy and governance standards are met. As a senior member of the testing team, you will play a key role in developing and enhancing testing protocols, supporting special projects, and evaluating model changes received from the development team. You will also serve as a technical mentor and trusted resource to junior analysts, helping elevate the team's modeling and testing capabilities. Key responsibilities include designing and executing model testing strategies, supporting model governance initiatives, documenting results, and presenting findings to senior leadership. Strong communication skills are essential, as this role regularly interacts with stakeholders and provides guidance to developing actuaries on effective presentation and communication techniques. This position offers the opportunity to influence model governance practices, support high-impact actuarial initiatives such as VM-22 and other special projects, and help shape the development of a growing actuarial testing function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Four to six years of experience
  • ASA designation and progress towards FSA designation
  • A Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field with a strong mathematical background
  • The ability to demonstrate sufficient progress in understanding and applying basic actuarial principles

Nice To Haves

  • Prior actuarial model testing experience
  • Experience with Moody's AXIS
  • Experience with ALFA, MoSes, or PathWise
  • Programming experience with SQL, VBA, and/or VB.NET
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills
