About The Position

The Associate Accountant provides comprehensive support for the continual improvement of day-to-day operations, with a focus on meeting deadlines and supporting financial closing and reporting. The role requires knowledge of accounting principles, strong interpersonal skills, initiative, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. The position may involve interacting with Tyson team members across the organization and with vendors and customers. The role requires travel of at least one trip per year and is based on the first shift.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or experience commensurate with the knowledge typically acquired through a four-year degree.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Ability to use good judgment to complete tasks.
Ability to set priorities and coordinate with others.
Standard computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
Willingness and ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
At least one trip per year is required.

Nice To Haves

Six or more months of work experience; preferred but not required.
SAP experience.

Responsibilities

Follow up on collections for aged accounts.
Assist with weekly and monthly close processes.
Perform balance sheet account reconciliations.
Amortize prepaid expenses.
Manage and retain documents.
Assist with ad hoc management reports and projects as they arise.
Use approved AI tools responsibly, protect sensitive information, follow company policies, critically evaluate outputs, and apply professional judgment.
