The Associate Accountant - Tax assists with tax return preparation and related tax filings, payments, records, and client document processing. Requirements

CPA or working toward becoming a CPA.
Must meet the credit requirement for CPA eligibility.
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting.

Nice To Haves

Prior internship experience is preferred but not required.
Experience with Prosystem FX engagement, CCH Axcess, Microsoft Office products, QuickBooks, or Xero is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing tax returns, extensions, and quarterly estimated tax payments.
Assist with creating and requesting checks and mailing federal and state estimated tax vouchers.
Prepare household employer payroll tax filings.
Process electronic filing of tax returns.
Maintain the tax refunds ledger.
Review and compare gains and losses.
Maintain the tax database for tracking client deadlines and filings.
Maintain tax reporting system data.
Print, collate, and mail tax returns to clients.
Scan and organize electronic tax documents.
Print and mail notices to the IRS and state agencies.
