As part of Gilead's ERP and Digital Transformation strategy, we are seeking an Associate Director, SAP Product Lifecycle Management to serve as the Product Owner for Product Lifecycle Management capabilities supporting Pharmaceutical Development, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, and Supply Chain organizations. This leader will own the vision, roadmap, delivery strategy, and continuous improvement of PLM capabilities, driving the digital product lifecycle from product development through manufacturing, quality, regulatory compliance, and commercialization. The role will partner closely with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, and delivery teams to deliver scalable, compliant, and business-ready solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, Life Sciences, Supply Chain, or related discipline with 10+ years of SAP, ERP, digital platform, product management, solution architecture, or enterprise delivery experience or master's degree in related field listed with 8+ years of SAP, ERP experience as mentioned.
  • Deep expertise in SAP PLM, SAP MDG, SAP S/4HANA, and product lifecycle management processes.
  • Experience managing product roadmaps, business priorities, delivery portfolios, and stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong understanding of Specification Management, Recipe Development, BOM Management, Engineering Change Management, Labeling, Product Data, and Master Data Governance.
  • Experience leading large-scale ERP implementations and continuous improvement initiatives within regulated Life Sciences environments.
  • Strong understanding of GxP, cGMP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, validation, data integrity, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams, system integrators, AMS providers, and external partners.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive engagement skills.
  • Strong product mindset with a focus on customer experience, adoption, value realization, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Own the vision, roadmap, and lifecycle strategy for Product Lifecycle Management capabilities.
  • Serve as the primary IT partner for Product Development, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, and Supply Chain organizations.
  • Translate business priorities into product roadmaps, investment plans, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Drive stakeholder alignment, change adoption, and value realization.
  • Own the strategy, governance, architecture, and continuous improvement of SAP PLM, SAP MDG, Product Segmentation, and related Digital Product Platforms.
  • Govern capabilities including Specification Management, Recipe Development, BOM Management, Engineering Change Management, Labeling & Artwork, Product Data, Material Master, and Regulatory Product Data.
  • Drive the end-to-end digital product thread from product development through manufacturing, quality, release, logistics, and commercialization.
  • Establish enterprise standards and governance for product master data, lifecycle data, segmentation, and related business-critical information.
  • Partner with business leaders and data stewards to improve data quality, governance, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of PLM initiatives from demand intake through deployment and sustainment.
  • Lead cross-functional teams including architects, developers, validation teams, AMS providers, and system integrators.
  • Ensure compliance with GxP, cGMP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and enterprise quality standards.
  • Drive operational excellence, platform stability, and continuous improvement.
  • Build and develop high-performing teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and customer focus.
  • Represent PLM capabilities in governance, investment, and strategy discussions.
