About The Position
The City of Nacogdoches is seeking a dedicated and experienced public works professional to serve as Assistant Water Utilities Manager. In this supervisory role, the position helps direct operations across the Water Production and Wastewater Treatment divisions to ensure high-quality service, regulatory compliance, and community safety.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED supplemented by college coursework in chemistry, biology, or math.
- At least two years of experience in a supervisory position.
- Valid driver's license.
- TCEQ Class B Water license and TCEQ Class B Wastewater license.
- Comprehensive understanding of water and wastewater plant operations, safety protocols, hydraulic and mechanical principles, and standard software platforms.

- College degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- Direct and assist with daily operations and maintenance for Water Production and Wastewater Treatment.
- Ensure full compliance with state and federal rules and regulations.
- Manage the operation and maintenance of sewage lift stations.
- Prepare monthly and annual regulatory operational reports.
- Assist with departmental budget preparation, personnel training, and facility improvement projects.
