About The Position

The Risk Management Country Sr. Analyst supports the oversight and execution of country risk management activities by conducting analysis of sovereign creditworthiness, macroeconomic and political developments, country ratings, Watchlist assessments, and scenario-based risk evaluations across assigned countries or regions. Partners with Country Risk leadership, business, and Risk stakeholders to monitor emerging risks, challenge risk assumptions, support country reviews and stress testing exercises, and provide insights on the impact of macroeconomic developments on portfolio performance. May contribute to the development of new techniques, models, and country analysis within area of expertise, as well as assist the team with governance and control activities. Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate country analysis and build collaborative relationships across the 1st and 2nd Lines of Defense.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of experience
  • Must be a self-starter, flexible, innovative, and adaptive
  • Ability to work collaboratively and with people at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills and capability to handle multiple projects at one time
  • Experience in risk management, quantitative analysis, economic research, or a related field within the financial services industry
  • Understanding of macroeconomic indicators, financial market variables, and forecasting techniques
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex quantitative concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent review and challenge of scenario design and variable forecasting process, including base and stress scenarios
  • Review and challenge country sovereign rating and Watchlist proposals
  • Prepare detailed review reports, presenting findings, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending enhancements to scenario design and variable forecasting processes
  • Engage proactively with 1st Line of Defense teams and other stakeholders to facilitate a transparent and effective challenge process
  • Independently monitor global and country developments and engage in research on relevant topics as needed
  • Prepare presentations to convey the team's analyses and views
