Based in downtown Los Angeles, the Assistant Vice President will be responsible for the recruitment and program management of our U.S. Analyst & Associate Programs and Summer Internship Program.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of post-college experience in campus recruiting or graduate program management roles, preferably in financial services
  • Investment focused recruiting experience is preferred
  • Strong history of consistently delivering and producing results with a high level of client service
  • Proven ability to manage tasks with competing priorities and deadlines, independently determining order of priority and self-initiating other value-added tasks
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); working knowledge of Workday and candidate tracking systems is a plus
  • Proven track record in maintaining discretion with confidential information
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • A team player with high emotional intelligence and ability to serve as a business partner to multiple teams
  • Highly organized with strong initiative and a superior work ethic
  • Outstanding organizational and project management skills with strong attention-to-detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Champion of inclusion and interest in bringing different cohorts and communities together
  • High integrity; must be able to handle highly confidential situations with professionalism and discretion
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage recruiting process, pipeline and long-term candidate tracking for the U.S. Analyst & Investment Associate Programs
  • Lead recruitment process for U.S. Summer Internship program, including but not limited to Investment strategies and Enterprise teams (i.e., Finance, Technology, Operations, etc.)
  • Act as primary point of contact for candidates through the process; travel required during periods of peak recruiting and as part of workshops and partner conferences; on-campus visits required as well
  • Build and expand direct pipeline of candidates from various resources including universities, student clubs and organizations, pre-professional development programs, referrals, and online job boards such as LinkedIn
  • Build and manage relationships and processes with search firms and external recruiting partners
  • Work directly with pre-professional programs including Girls Who Invest, AltFinance, Phelps Forward, SEO, TOIGO, Posse Foundation, the UC Investment Academy, UTIMCO Scholars and other similar programs
  • Support college and high school in-office visits, on campus visits, and Zoom workshops held throughout the year as well as our Oaktree Future Leaders Program credit case competition and learning workshops
  • Build strong relationships with all business groups and investment team leaders and hiring managers, global HR colleagues, the Diversity & Inclusion team, Global Employee Networks, key search partners, pre-professional program leaders, university career centers, student-led clubs and internal stakeholders.
  • Serve as an ambassador of Oaktree with external partners and candidate-facing organizations
  • Partner with business teams to secure coverage for student outreach activities such as university treks, networking events, and information sessions
  • Handle ad hoc administrative responsibilities as needed
  • Partner with the Talent & Development and Diversity & Inclusion teams to create, implement and facilitate onboarding and training for U.S. Associates, Analysts and Interns
  • Support program management processes including performance management including mid-year and year-end reviews, employee engagement, compensation, and promotion cycles
  • Oversee U.S. Summer Internship Program including pre-program onboarding, training and learning pathways
  • Partner with non-US colleagues to share best practices and to ensure consistency across programs globally
  • Act as a point person for program participants to share ideas and implement best practices
  • Coordinate events and opportunities to increase connectivity and engagement amongst early talent cohorts
  • Participate and engage in programming for the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion programs including Global Employee Networks, Mentorship, and other programs and workshops supporting inclusion across the firm
  • Manage exit interviews and offboarding logistics for departing Interns, Analysts and Associates
  • Track and analyze key program metrics
