Francis Parker School (Parker) is a coeducational independent day school in San Diego, California with 1,330 students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12. Founded in 1912, the school’s mission is “to create and inspire a diverse community of independent thinkers whose academic excellence, global perspective and strength of character prepare them to make a meaningful difference in the world.” Parker has two campuses: one in Mission Hills (Lower School, Junior Kindergarten - Grade 5), and a second in Linda Vista (Middle and Upper School, Grades 6 - 12). The Assistant Varsity Football Coach is responsible for the coordination or for assisting with the coordination of Parker sports program. This includes teaching, coaching, instructing student-athletes and performing other duties necessary to the development of players and teams, which demonstrates the skills and values of Parker’s Mission and the athletic department philosophy. The school believes that athletic-based programs are an integral and valuable component of students’ overall educational experience, helping student-athletes develop critical skills such as teamwork, resilience, leadership, and tenacity that promote success in the classroom, in college and in life.
