About The Position
This supplemental position involves supervising and instructing a high school cheerleading team of approximately 6-10 athletes. The Assistant Varsity Cheerleading Coach will work under the Head Cheerleading Coach, assisting with coaching, communication, and administrative duties. The role requires conducting regular practices, coaching student-athletes positively, ensuring their safety, and developing training plans. The position involves six days of work per week, including practices and contests, with a typical time commitment of 15-20 hours per week. The coach will also supervise and travel with the team to all contests. Grandview Heights Schools is an equal opportunity employer.
Requirements
- Experience in the designated sport
- Must meet all coaching requirements as specified by the Board of Education and OHSAA, including acquiring a pupil activity permit and CPR certification
Nice To Haves
- Prior coaching experience preferred
- Van certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Supervise and instruct high school cheerleading team consisting of approximately 6-10 athletes each
- Assist the Head Cheerleading Coach with coaching, communication, and administrative duties as assigned.
- Conduct regular practices for the team.
- Coach student-athletes in a positive manner.
- Ensure the safety of all student-athletes during practices and competitions.
- Develop practice and training plans for athletes with differing ability levels.
- Supervise and travel with the team to all contests.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
