About The Position

Brenau University is seeking an Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach/Head JV Basketball Coach. This position is responsible for assisting with the overall program, including coaching, recruiting, and player development, while also leading the Junior Varsity team. The role requires a commitment to the NAIA philosophy and the university's mission, strong leadership, and effective communication skills.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year institution.
Successful coaching experience at the college or high-school level.
Clear understanding of and commitment to the NAIA philosophy and the role of athletics within the university’s mission.
Appropriate coaching licenses and necessary certifications for the designated sport.
Strong leadership skills to motivate and develop athletes.
Ability to communicate with other coaches, players, parents and organization members.
Must be eligible to work in the United States on or before the confirmed start date.
Must be at least 21 years of age to operate university vehicles or drive for Brenau purposes.
Must possess a valid Georgia driver’s license.
Must maintain a clean driving record.
Must be willing to submit to and pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
Must report any arrest (within five days of its occurrence) to the Office of Human Resources.
Must report disclosure of subsequent legal action (conviction, dismissal of charges, etc.) to the Office of Human Resources.
Proof of any professional degree, license, or certification required to competently perform the work must have been submitted at the time of application.

Responsibilities

Assist with the overall basketball program, including coaching, recruiting, and player development.
Lead the Junior Varsity basketball team.
Communicate effectively with other coaches, players, parents, and organization members.
Understand and commit to the NAIA philosophy and the role of athletics within the university’s mission.
Maintain eligibility to work in the United States.
Report any possible sexual harassment or discrimination based on sex to the Title IX Coordinator.
Provide Title IX Coordinator contact information to individuals who inform them of pregnancy or related conditions.
