About The Position

Responsible for recruiting and coaching throwers for the Men's/Women's Track & Field program within established college, A-R-C and NCAA guidelines. Given that the College is a diocesan Catholic college, will carry out your functions of your position in support of the College's Catholic Identity, mission and in support of Church teachings. Develop and implement program culture and philosophy in collaboration with head coach and other assistant coaches. Responsible for identification, evaluation, and recruitment of throwers. Responsible for daily practice planning and implementation of throws practice. Plan and implement strength and conditioning programming for throwers. Coordinate practice schedules and meetings for throwers. Monitor academic progress of track and field student-athletes. Assists in the coordination of travel arrangements for road trips. May represent the college and track and field program at American Rivers Conference meetings. Supports the mission and vision of the College and respects the College's Catholic tradition. Performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in any field
  • One to three years of collegiate coaching experience
  • Skilled in the use of a personal computer and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of computer and Internet applications to recruiting systems and data management
  • Respect for and solid representation of the Catholic, liberal arts, residential mission, and environment
  • Knowledge of NCAA/A-R-C rules and regulations
  • Good understanding of motivational skills and the ability to implement them
  • Understanding of budget and reporting requirements
  • Excellent leadership abilities
  • Able to organize, coordinate, and direct team activities
  • Strong oral and written communications abilities
  • Excellent public relations skills
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit effectively
  • Strong interpersonal skills to represent the college and effectively interact with student-athletes, faculty, and staff
  • Strong administrative skills to plan, organize and implement a quality team and program
  • Diagnostic and strategic techniques needed to prepare athletes for competition
