About The Position

L.L.Bean is seeking a temporary creative Assistant Textile Graphic Designer to support its Graphics team in Freeport, Maine. The role collaborates with experienced graphic designers to develop distinctive, brand-right graphics, allover prints, and patterns that reflect L.L.Bean’s outdoor heritage across multiple product categories. The designer supports execution of the brand’s graphic design vision and helps bring the outdoor experience to customers.

The position supports seasonal pattern direction, original artwork and graphic development, textile trend research, design presentations, and the preparation of production-ready files for mills and vendors. It also involves coordinating with designers, production teams, mills, suppliers, and sourcing partners to meet manufacturing specifications, brand standards, milestones, and deadlines. Additional duties include development and production tracking, administrative tasks, maintaining digital design archives, and organizing original physical artwork purchases.

The role requires a BA/BS and at least two years of relevant experience. Candidates should be proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, understand textiles and production methods, communicate and collaborate effectively across teams, and manage multiple projects and deadlines. The position also carries responsibility for following workplace safety policies and procedures and reporting unsafe conditions or at-risk behaviors.

Requirements

• BA/BS required.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience required.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Strong ability to interpret and translate artistic vision and aesthetic requirements into compelling, brand-right design solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across global and cross-functional teams.
• Keen understanding of fabric types, textile properties, allover repeats, and production methods.
• Ability to build strong partnerships with internal teams, vendors, and sourcing partners.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously and excel at project management in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of AI, Co-Pilot, Teams, and Mural.
• Excellent attention to detail when preparing and reviewing production-ready files.
• Curious, collaborative, and solution-oriented, with appreciation for L.L.Bean’s heritage, quality standards, and target consumer.
• Self-starter who takes initiative and contributes positively to a team-oriented culture.

Responsibilities

• Translate seasonal pattern work direction into compelling, brand-right graphics, prints, and patterns for apparel, hard goods, and home.
• Assist Graphic Designers in creating original prints, graphics, and patterns.
• Explore heritage artwork and graphic assets to support authentic L.L.Bean-inspired designs.
• Research textile trends, color palettes, materials, and techniques to inform design direction.
• Support preparation for design presentations using Mural.
• Prepare and generate production-ready graphics and prints for mills and vendors.
• Work with designers, production teams, mills, and suppliers to ensure designs meet manufacturing specifications and brand standards.
• Help achieve M2M milestones and deadlines and align on M2M strategies, initiatives, and actions.
• Assist with development and production tracking.
• Assist with administrative tasks, maintain digital design archives, and organize original physical artwork purchases.
• Follow workplace health and safety policies and procedures, report unsafe conditions or at-risk behaviors, and conduct work safely.
