•$26 - $31•Hybrid

About The Position

Pacific Science Center is hiring a Graphic Designer I for a six-month contract to create marketing and creative collateral for programs, events, and exhibits. The role is part of the Marketing Department and reports to the Creative Manager. The designer works with the Creative Manager and other Graphic Designers to create print and digital materials in alignment with PacSci’s mission and brand standards. This hybrid role has three in-office days per week after an initial 30 days working on-site full-time; the hybrid schedule may then be requested. Work includes design and production for marketing assets, event and camp materials, signage, interactives, and exhibit spaces. The position also involves image retouching and manipulation, preparing final production files, managing contractor relationships—primarily printers—and communicating project needs or blockers to stakeholders. The expected deliverables include production design for upcoming VX events, Science After Dark: Maker Market, Mocktology, Fracture, Camps for Curious Minds, and environmental and exhibit design. Most work takes place at a desk using a computer. The role requires occasional movement around the PacSci campus and occasional handling of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. The position involves communication by phone, email, video, and in person, including presentations to individuals and groups. Noise levels vary from low to moderate.
