Assistant Team Ski Coach
About The Position
Under the general supervision of the Ski Team Head Coach, this role will assist the Head Coach of the Ski Team with all operational duties associated with the ski team. The position is scheduled to work from approximately October 1st to March 1st. This is a part-time, seasonal position. As per the Affordable Care Act (ACA) guidelines, the role is not eligible for benefits typically provided to full-time employees. Employment duration and hours worked may vary based on seasonal business needs. The individual hired for this position will not hold any other role at CMC during the year and will only be employed in this seasonal role to meet ACA seasonal employment requirements. Colorado Mountain College requires that employees perform their assigned duties within the State of Colorado. The College further expects employees to accurately report their work location at all times. Failure to do so impairs the College's ability to ensure compliance with tax, payroll, employment, information security, and operational requirements. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.
Requirements
- Education and experience sufficient to meet the rigors of the position. Examples may include an Associate Degree and one-year related work experience or consider a two year college certificate, and two years related work experience, or a High School Degree/GED and three years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to manage and coordinate multi-faceted activities.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse populations.
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and work independently.
- Ability to qualify and maintain a Colorado driver’s license.
- The ski coach will be required to drive high occupancy vehicles for team transportation and events.
- Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to working effectively with students, employees, and community members of all backgrounds.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with regional and national alpine competition.
- Knowledge of NCAA/USSA/FIS rules and compliance.

- Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assists Head Coach in all snow training sessions.
- Assists in conducting daily conditioning sessions.
- Provides tuning guidance and assistance to athletes.
- Provides video and timing assistance.
- Monitors inventory and maintenance of team equipment.
- Adheres to training and racing safety policies.
- Assists in execution of travel logistics.
- Participates in adherence to team budget and accounting procedures.
- Assists in evaluating training programs.
- Assists in recruiting strategies.
- Ensures safety and well-being of student athletes.
- Serves as an effective role model for college-age students.
- Creates and maintains internal and external relationships.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
