About The Position

Assistant Teaching Professor to teach courses within Journalism major and minor. The Department of Media, Journalism & Film prepares students to work in an interdisciplinary media environment, offering degrees in Journalism, Media & Communication, and Strategic Communication. This hire will have the chance to be a leader in our Journalism curriculum, with possible responsibility for teaching our core reporting class, JRN 201: News Writing & Reporting I; the introductory news writing class JRN 102: News Writing Fundamentals; and additional undergraduate classes in journalism special topics, according to the candidate’s expertise.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in relevant field at time of appointment.
  • Previous experience teaching undergraduate journalism courses.
  • Previous experience working in a professional newsroom.
