About The Position

The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Rice University, located in Houston, Texas, invites applications for a non-tenure track assistant teaching professor position. The candidate will be expected to teach Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering to undergraduate students; mentor assigned graduate and undergraduate student teaching assistants; advise assigned undergraduate students on curriculum selection, electives, etc; ensure progress towards the degree is on track; lead effort for ABET accreditation, coordinating program assessments, ensuring compliance with ABET requirements, and preparing review documents; participate in curriculum development for BSChE and BA programs; serve on undergraduate program committee; and engage in continuous professional development to promote innovation in teaching and course development. Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Biomolecular Engineering, Bioengineering, or related field

Responsibilities

  • Teach Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering to undergraduate students
  • Mentor assigned graduate and undergraduate student teaching assistants
  • Advise assigned undergraduate students on curriculum selection, electives, etc.
  • Ensure progress towards the degree is on track
