About The Position

University of Arkansas - Pulaski Technical College at North Little Rock is an integral part of the Arkansas Technical and Community College System maintained by the State of Arkansas. The college is governed by the University of Arkansas System Board of Trustees and a seven-member Board of Visitors and derives its support largely from student tuition and fees and legislative appropriations. UA - Pulaski Tech, a comprehensive two-year college, offers associate degree and certificate programs for students who plan to transfer to four-year colleges and universities and/or for career preparation and advancement. Under the immediate supervision of the Director of Nursing Programs, the Assistant Teaching Professor – Certified Medication Assistant (CMA) will monitor and evaluate student performance based on established grading guidelines. The CMA instructor shall be responsible for directing, managing, and evaluating student learning in the classroom, clinical area, and designated skills labs.

Requirements

  • Active, Unencumbered Registered Nursing (RN) license in the State of Arkansas
  • Two (2) years clinical experience and/or education experience in a designated facility
  • Have previous clinical experience in clinical nursing practice and/or education
  • Associate Degree in any field or combination of education and relevant certifications

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate skills lab check-offs and clinical competences as assigned
  • Plan and prepare for classroom and clinical assignments
  • Attend student orientations and clinical scheduling duties as assigned
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of good nursing principles
  • Possess the ability to interpret procedures and policies and to develop, devise, and adapt techniques and methods to meet the needs of the students, clinical affiliates, and patients
  • Participate in faculty meetings
  • Maintain accurate records on attendance and student progress
  • Exhibit strong verbal, written, and electronic communication skills
  • Utilize Microsoft Office to a level of proficiency
  • Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently toward course and program objectives
  • Work effectively as a team member
  • Work evenings and weekends as required at times
  • Complete other duties as assigned
