About The Position

This position will provide quality teaching at the undergraduate level; advise students; and provide service to the profession and university. The Department of Accountancy currently has approximately 200 graduates per year, and consists of approximately 25 members included tenured/tenure-track faculty, teaching professors/lecturers, part-time instructors, and staff members. The Department values high-quality teaching and research. The Farmer School of Business has approximately 1,200 graduates per year. Information on the Farmer School of Business and its numerous initiatives can be found at http://miamioh.edu/fsb/. Introductory accountancy courses can range in size from small (~30-40 students per class) to large sections (~150-250 students per class); upper-level accountancy courses are generally small (~30-40 students per class).

Requirements

  • Doctorate in Accounting or closely related field by date of appointment.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated quality collegiate teaching experience
  • Proven ability to teach accountancy content effectively
  • Experience in any area of accounting and at all levels of coursework, including teaching introductory financial and managerial accounting.
