About The Position
The Growing Years - Discovery in Charlotte is a licensed childcare center seeking Assistant Teachers to support its Young Preschool age group. Assistant Teachers help the lead teacher with classroom activities and care, encourage children’s development, and maintain a clean and safe environment. The role requires working Monday through Friday from 9am to 6pm. Compensation is $16–$18 per hour, based on education and experience. Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Completion of early childhood education credentials/EDU 119.
- Ability to pass all background checks.
- Physical ability to work around small children, including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.

Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in a manner consistent with the center’s philosophy and goals.
- Implement activities that encourage children’s emotional, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development.
- Accept direction, constructive criticism, and feedback, and make improvements and changes as needed to support program quality.
- Create and maintain a clean and safe environment for children.
- Establish professional rapport with each family to provide quality care for children.
