About The Position

Guidepost Montessori is hiring an Assistant Teacher to support a mixed-age Montessori classroom serving infants, toddlers, and children ages 3–6. The role helps create a calm, engaging environment where children can explore, learn, and develop at their own pace. The Assistant Teacher helps prepare intentional learning spaces and supports individualized and small-group activities with respect, patience, and care, encouraging children to build confidence and independence.

The position is based at Guidepost Montessori’s Kentwood school. Guidepost Montessori is a network of more than 60 schools across the U.S. and Asia serving children from 3 months to 6 years old. Its mission is to transform education by helping every child reach their highest potential academically, socially, and emotionally.

Requirements

• Experience working with children ages 3–6 in a school or childcare setting.
• A positive, adaptable, and collaborative mindset.
• A genuine love for working with young children.
• Prior experience as an Assistant Teacher, babysitter, nanny, or in customer service.
• Interest in learning and growing within the Montessori approach; prior Montessori experience is welcome but not required.
