About The Position

The Learning Experience – Beltline is seeking a dependable and caring Assistant Teacher to support our early childhood classrooms. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with different age groups and being part of a collaborative teaching team. You’ll provide classroom and break coverage throughout the day while helping our Infant, Toddler, and Preschool teachers create safe, engaging environments where children can learn, play, and grow.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Comfortable working with multiple age groups and classrooms
Ability to meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements
Reliable, flexible, energetic, and team-oriented
Strong communication skills

Nice To Haves

Previous daycare, preschool, childcare, or early childhood experience preferred
CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus

Responsibilities

Support Infant, Toddler, and Preschool classrooms based on daily needs
Assist Lead Teachers with learning activities, classroom routines, and transitions
Engage children through play, art, music, movement, sensory activities, and outdoor experiences
Assist with meals, diapering/toileting, rest time, and other daily routines
Provide classroom and teacher break coverage while maintaining required ratios
Provide attentive supervision and positive guidance
Help prepare classroom materials and learning activities
Maintain clean, safe, and organized classroom environments
Build positive relationships with children, families, and teaching teams
Follow Michigan childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements
