About The Position

Centerville Daycare is seeking a full-time infant and toddler Assistant Teacher. The position supports the Lead Teacher in creating a caring and safe environment for children and assisting with activities that improve the overall care and quality of education. The Assistant Teacher works with staff to implement a quality educational program and develop positive relationships with children and their parents. Under the direction of the Lead Teacher, the Assistant Teacher implements developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs.

Requirements

• Child care experience.
• High energy.
• Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong understanding of child development.
• Must pass a full background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing curriculum activities and encourage children's participation.
• Actively engage in activities and manage classroom cleanliness, order, and the availability of materials.
• Maintain frequent communication with parents through informal discussions and progress reports.
• Help ensure smooth daily transitions from home to the child care center.
• Follow all center policies and state regulations.
• Maintain a personal professional development plan to support continuous quality improvement.
