Full Time assistant teacher
About The Position
Centerville daycare is seeking a full-time infant and toddler assistant teacher. The position supports the lead teacher by helping create a caring and safe environment for children and assisting with activities that improve the overall care and quality of education. The assistant teacher communicates, listens, and works well with others in a team environment; assists staff in implementing a quality educational program and developing positive relationships with children and their parents; and implements developmentally appropriate activities based on children’s interests and needs under the direction of the Lead Teacher.
Requirements
- Child care experience.
- High energy.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong understanding of child development.
- Must pass a full background check.
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing curriculum activities and encourage children’s participation.
- Actively engage in activities and manage classroom cleanliness, order, and availability of materials.
- Communicate frequently with parents through informal discussions and progress reports.
- Help ensure smooth daily transitions from home to the childcare center.
- Follow all center policies and state regulations.
- Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
