About The Position

The Assistant Teacher supports the classroom team in creating a safe, engaging environment where children can learn and grow. The role assists with daily activities and curriculum implementation, provides active supervision, and helps create a smooth, positive classroom experience. The Assistant Teacher also supports children’s development through positive guidance, interaction, and play, and assists with classroom routines, organization, family communication, and overall school operations.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
Basic understanding of classroom procedures and willingness to learn state licensing and compliance requirements.
Must meet applicable state education, certification (including CPR/First Aid where required), licensing, and regulatory requirements.
Ability to pass a background check and complete ongoing professional development.
Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with children, families, and team members.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Dependable, positive, patient, and supportive approach.
Ability to work collaboratively, be open to learning and feedback, and adapt to a fast-paced classroom environment.
Passion for working with young children.

Nice To Haves

Coursework or a degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
Previous experience working with young children in a childcare, preschool, or similar setting.
