About The Position

The Assistant Teacher works under the on-site supervision of a qualified teacher who is available at all times. The role assists with teaching children in the classroom and requires being punctual and present as scheduled, as well as spending quality time in the classroom.

Employees will be assigned to care for Indian children and must undergo a criminal history background screening and a Child Welfare Background Check. The position is performed in a child care environment and may also involve working outside in hot or cold weather.

Requirements

• Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, or be currently enrolled in high school.
• Pass an OSBI background check.
• Have CPR and First Aid certification.
• Have a genuine love and concern for children.
• Be creative and have an aptitude for teaching and promoting child development.
• Be able to stay calm in emergency situations.
• Have an even temperament.

Responsibilities

• Assist in teaching the children in the classroom.
• Be on time and present each day as scheduled to work.
• Spend quality time in the classroom.
• Perform other duties and projects as required by management.

Benefits

• Medical, dental, and vision insurance for full-time positions, with biweekly employee paycheck deductions of $40 for employee only, $95 for employee plus children, $120 for employee plus spouse, or $140 for employee plus family.
