About The Position

The Learning Experience is hiring a full-time Assistant Teacher in St. Cloud, Florida, to support the care, learning, and development of infants, toddlers, and/or preschool children. Working with a Lead Teacher, the Assistant Teacher helps maintain a safe, engaging classroom and supports children throughout daily routines and learning activities. The stated pay is $15.25–$16.00 per hour, and the schedule is 9:15 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. The Assistant Teacher helps create a welcoming and positive classroom, engages children in age-appropriate learning and play, supports individual care needs and classroom routines, and contributes to strong relationships with children, families, and coworkers. The role also supports implementation of TLE’s L.E.A.P. Curriculum®, compliance with childcare licensing and safety requirements, and a professional, family-focused experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Dependability and strong communication and teamwork skills.
Must meet applicable state licensing, background screening, health, and training requirements.
Ability to supervise children by sight and sound; stand, walk, bend, kneel, and sit on the floor; participate in indoor and outdoor activities; and safely lift up to 40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Childcare, daycare, preschool, nanny, camp, babysitting, or teaching experience preferred.
Early Childhood Education coursework or training preferred.

Responsibilities

Create a welcoming classroom where children feel safe and supported.
Engage children in age-appropriate learning, play, and activities.
Build positive relationships with children and encourage communication, confidence, and social development.
Assist the Lead Teacher with lessons, activities, routines, and transitions.
Maintain active supervision of children and support their safety.
Assist with feeding, diapering, toileting, dressing, and other age-appropriate care.
Follow classroom procedures and center policies.
Help maintain a clean and organized classroom.
Work collaboratively with Lead Teachers and center leadership.
Support communication with families about children's daily experiences.
Treat children and families with patience, respect, and professionalism.
Assist with TLE's L.E.A.P. Curriculum® and classroom activities.
Follow childcare licensing, health, safety, and sanitation requirements.
Maintain supervision of children by sight and sound.
Prepare classroom materials and learning areas.
Participate in required training and professional development.
Welcome children and families each day and maintain TLE classroom and center standards.
Support a professional and family-focused environment.
