About The Position

First Learning is a provider of early education for children, operating childcare centers across the Rochester community and beyond. The Assistant Teacher supports children and families and may also assist in classrooms as needed in an Assistant Teacher/Floater capacity. The role includes building relationships with parents, maintaining classroom records, communicating with staff, and contributing to a positive work climate. The position is offered full-time and part-time, pays $16.00–$18.00 per hour, and is performed in person. The schedule is an eight-hour day shift, Monday through Friday, with no nights or weekends.

Requirements

• Flexibility regarding work hours and schedule.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience related to caring for children.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with parents and regularly communicate about children’s activities.
• Maintain classroom records and required documentation.
• Communicate effectively and directly with other staff.
• Help maintain a positive work climate.
• Assist in classrooms as needed as an Assistant Teacher/Floater.
