About The Position

The Learning Experience - Meridian is seeking a caring and dependable Toddler Assistant Teacher to join its early childhood education team. The Assistant Teacher works alongside experienced teachers to create a nurturing, engaging classroom where toddlers can explore, build independence, and develop important early skills. The role supports daily classroom routines and learning activities, supervises and guides children, and collaborates with teachers and center leadership. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and pays $16–$18 per hour based on experience and credentials.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Patient, dependable, energetic, and team-oriented.
Ability to meet Idaho childcare licensing requirements.

Nice To Haves

Previous daycare, preschool, childcare, or other experience working with children preferred.
Toddler classroom experience is a plus.
CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus.

Responsibilities

Support Lead Teachers with daily Toddler classroom routines and learning activities.
Engage children through play, art, music, movement, sensory activities, and hands-on learning.
Support language development, independence, and positive social interactions.
Assist with meals, diapering/toileting, rest time, outdoor play, and transitions.
Provide attentive supervision and positive guidance.
Help prepare classroom activities and learning materials.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
Build positive relationships with children and families.
Collaborate with teachers and center leadership.
Follow Idaho childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements.
