Requirements
- Must be at least 20 years’ old
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Documentation of physical exam and TB test
- Ability to pass background checks and meet licensing requirements
- Strong communication skills and a positive, creative attitude
- 15 credit hours (per jurisdictional guideline) or 90-hour certificate or CDA
- Must obtain CDA within 18 months of employment
- Must have one year teaching experience in a licensed center
Responsibilities
- Assist with implementing lesson plans that meet the needs and interests of children
- Maintain a safe environment and respond appropriately to emergencies
- Attend staff meetings, in-service training, and parent-child events
- Keep classrooms neat, clean, and organized; support children with cleanup routines
- Build positive relationships with families, coworkers, and program participants
- Participate in field trips, special events, and enrichment activities
- Engage children during story time, outdoor play, arts and crafts, and group activities
