About The Position
The Learning Experience – Clarkston is seeking a positive and dependable Assistant Teacher to join its early childhood education team. The role is suited to someone who enjoys working with children and wants to build or continue a career in childcare. The Assistant Teacher works alongside Lead Teachers to create safe, engaging classrooms where children learn through play and positive relationships.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Dependable, patient, energetic, and team-oriented.
- Must meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements.
Nice To Haves
- Previous daycare, preschool, or childcare experience preferred.
- CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Support Lead Teachers with classroom routines and learning activities.
- Engage children through play, art, music, sensory activities, and hands-on learning.
- Assist with meals, diapering and toileting, rest time, outdoor play, and transitions.
- Provide attentive supervision and positive guidance.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom.
- Build positive relationships with children and families.
- Collaborate with teachers and center leadership.
- Follow Michigan childcare licensing requirements.
