About The Position
Assistant Teachers at Glen Ellyn KinderCare help deliver early childhood education and care in a classroom setting. They implement KinderCare’s curriculum to meet each child’s unique needs, create a safe and nurturing environment for play and learning, and partner with parents to provide quality care and education. They also collaborate with center staff and leadership to support goals related to enrollment, accreditation, and engagement, while building positive relationships with families, teachers, state licensing authorities, community contacts, and corporate partners. The role involves working indoors or outdoors and engaging physically with children. The listed pay is $15.65 per hour. Illinois center employees at locations participating in the Illinois Smart Start Workforce Grant currently receive a 15% premium in addition to the listed hourly pay.
Requirements
- Meet state-specific qualifications for the role, or be willing to obtain them.
- Have or be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Be physically able to lift at least 40 pounds and work indoors or outdoors.
- Be able to assume low-level postures to allow physical and visual contact with children.
- See and hear well enough to keep children safe and engage in physical activity with children.
- Read, write, understand, and speak English to communicate with children and their parents.
- Have outstanding customer service skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask and handle multiple situations effectively.
